Healthy Crunchy Snacks: Popcorn, Kale Chips, Apple Nachos

Are you a salty person or a sweet person? Give me chocolate over chips or crisps anyday! I am without a doubt a sweet-tooth.

One thing clients have asked me in the past is how can I get that salty "crunch" without diving into a bag of greasy chips? Enter these healthy snack options! 

1. Popcorn

Definitely an easy, low calorie snack. One cup=35kcals!! I normally try and buy the air-popped bags of pre-made popcorn. Try to look for the bags without the partially hydrogenated oils. Skinnypop or smartfood are my go-to brands. 

2.Kale Chips

Any snack that involves vegetable is a win. I know kale chips have a bad rep. My boyfriend says they make the whole house smell like rubbish. Despite the odour, they are a great crunchy, low calorie snack. One cup of kale has about 3grams of protein! I bake my kale chips in the oven at 350 for about 25 minutes after coating them with soy sauce. Iv always tried sprinkling taco seasoning, BBQ seasoning and balsamic vinegar on them but soy sauce is definitely my favorite. Try it out!

3.Apple Nachos

One bored Sunday I made these apple nachos. I had too many apples to get through and was craving something snacky. Slice up your favorite type of apple and drizzle some honey over the apple slices. Sprinkle some PB2 and cinnamon on top for a perfect sweet treat.
